Joshua is old and going to die. He warns the Israelites follow God and the entire law of Moses. If they fall away from God, they will disappear from the land.
Interesting - looking ahead to the Assyrian and Babylonian conquest and removal of them, we know the Israelites fall away and are removed. I wonder if this means that the Israelites lost all divine right to the land and that those that returned from Babylon were just "lucky". I'm not sure. It's something I will keep in mind when we get there.
